Financial Markets and Regulations: INDIVIDUAL COURSEWORK ASSIGNMENT
TOPIC: The 2007-9 financial crisis revealed some limitations and potential flaws in the Basel II Banking Regulation. As a response, the new Basel III Capital Accord was proposed by the Basel Committee on 1 June, 2011. Basel III is expected to be fully implemented by 2022.
REQUIRED: Students are required to write a report, which
a) Describes the rationale and evolution of Basel regulations over time;
b) Present the current set of rules and then illuminates the objectives of the new the requirements introduced by Basel III.
It is suggested that part a &b) should consist of approximately 1000 words.
This coursework will contribute 30% to the overall course assessment.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
1. This is an individual assignment.
2. Students must submit:
Late submissions will be penalised by one CAS point for each working day late.
3. Report must be 1000 words (10% + or -), excluding any appendices and references.
4. Reports must be properly referenced using the Harvard referencing system. For details on exactly how to do this (including web pages) see the library citation guide.
5. Reports must be written in Calibri, 12-point font, be justified, have 1.5-line spacing, include pages’ numbers and include the word count.
Failure to adhere to the above submission guidelines will result in a reduction of one CAS mark.
