Blockbuster was a video store, where you could go and rent DVDs of movies to watch at home. They were out-competed by the invention of online rental businesses such as Netflix (you could rent a DVD from the comfort of your own home and it would be mailed to you … you could then watch and put back in the mail to return it). With the invention of streaming, Netflix changed its operation; however, Netflix now faces stiff competition from other video streaming outlets that have entered the market like Disney, Hulu, Sling, Amazon, HBO Max, and others.
