~ The Structure of the Final Exam ~
The document that students upload for Part One of the Final Examination will consist of at least five double-spaced pages and include the following:
Page One: Title Page with First and Last Name, Title of this Course, and the phrase “Questions One and Two of the Final Examination”
Pages Two & Three: Essay that addresses Question One (or Topic One) of the Final Exam (Pages Two and Three) and References (Page Three)
Pages Four & Five: Essay that addresses Question/Topic (or Topic Two) of the Final Exam (Pages Four and Five) and References (Page Five)
~ Question One ~
Question #1: Explain how relationships between parents and their adult children change (or develop or evolve) throughout emerging and early adulthood. Do you believe the the parent-child relationship changes when a child becomes an adult, an emerging adult, and/or a young adult? Why or why not?
Directions for Question #1: Students are required to cite from at least one reputable source to support viewpoints they espouse in their response to Question #2. Examples of reputable sources include the textbook embedded within this course, the American Psychological Association Dictionary of Psychology, and articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
Although a maximum word limit for Question #2 has not been designated by the instructor, students are required to submit an essay that consists of a minimum of at least one full double-spaced page of content (Times New Roman, 12 point font).
~ Question Two ~
Question #2: Express your viewpoint about the following topic: Is mid-life (i.e., middle adulthood) an appropriate time for a middle-aged adult to change careers? Why or why not?

Grading Rubric for Discussion Posts, Reflection Posts, & Exams: Three Criteria
Criterion #1: Clarity (40% of Grade for Each Assignment). The extent to which Discussion Posts, Reflection Posts, and responses to questions on the Midterm/Final Exam are written clearly – that is, written in a way that is clear to the reader – will be assessed by the instructor for grading purposes.
Criterion #2: Relevance (30% of Grade for Each Assignment): The extent to which Discussion Posts, Reflection Posts, and responses to questions on the Midterm/Final Exam answer each component of a question/prompt directly – and in its entirety – will be assessed by the instructor for grading purposes.
Criterion #3: Citations, Directions, and Instructions (30% of Grade for Each Assignment): The extent to which Discussion Posts, Reflection Posts, and responses to questions on the Midterm/Final exam include sources from reputable sources and adhere to directions and instructions (for word length, submitting in Canvas, etc.) will be assessed by the instructor for grading purposes.
