For Assessment 2 you must write an 1800-word essay on any one of the following topics:
•Topic 1: Consider the advantages and potential pitfalls of mix-agency multi-specialist partnerships in meeting the needs of any one (specified) client group.
•Topic 2: What is power? How does power impact on inter-professional and client-professional relationships? Support your answer with examples drawn from your reading of texts, research findings, official reports or accounts of working practice.
•Topic 3: People in need and their carers have no interest in whether they have “social” or “health” needs [Ovretveit, 1993 #15, p 201.]. With reference to specific examples, discuss the consequences of Ovretveit’s statement for policies involving partnership between service providers.
•Topic 4: There have been numerous official and other documented reports & enquiries into the failings of (especially) child protection systems in England & Wales or Scotland in recent years. What can be learned about working in partnership from these reports? Reference your answer.
•Topic 5: An essay title of your own choosing (involving an aspect of wip), subject to tutor negotiation and prior approval.
The 1800 word-count allows a 10% margin (“+” or “-“ 180 words) on either side and excludes bibliographical and reference material that is clearly differentiated (at the end of the assignment) from the essay body.
