About me: I used to work at the labor and delivery department at a hospital, we used an electronic medical record system called EPIC, we have an employee # and password to log in. We can document our assessment notes and vital signs, see the patient’s personal information like allergies, full name and date of birth, medical histories, appointments and test results. We can mark given medications with a scanned bar code, we can check for medication interactions and that the frequency is correct. We also used the Pxyis MedStation for certain medications that are controlled .It requires fingerprint and a code to access controlled medication.
