Throughout this course, you have examined the importance of equity, equality, and equal opportunity in educating traditional, gifted, and underserved student populations. As part of this examination in Week 2, you conducted research regarding the organizational policies on equity, equality, and/or equal opportunity of specific educational organizations, including the policies of an organization that you have a personal affiliation with. In this assignment, you will use your newfound knowledge of equitable education to develop a revised organizational policy that addresses current areas of weakness.
Develop a well-supported oral and visual presentation that could be shown to a school board or executive council. The presentation must include the following:
- Your organization’s vision and mission: Department of Defense Education Activity
- How your organization will specifically address the issues of equity, equality, and equal opportunity
- How your revised policy addresses current areas of weakness with regards to equitable education
- How your policy reflects the organization’s commitment to equitable education for all student populations
- What tools the organization will use to validate successful implementation of the revised policy
- How the revised policy meets the characteristics of a successful equitable education model
