Write a 16 page major essay examining the historical figure, AlbertEinstein, and his scientific work. The 16 page essay should include BOTH the following:
1) AN EXAMINATION OF ALBERT EINSTEIN AS A HISTORICAL FIGURE: all material about Einstein as a person, placing him into the context of his time and the science of that era (this is historical information about Einstein and his life). Use as many references as needed (try to use approximately 5-10 references). The exact numbers of references is not important. Just try to include relevant information and along with 2) put together a 16 page essay. Use books, journals etc. for finding information. Remember to cite correctly in MLA.
AND
2) AN EXAMINATION OF EINSTEIN‘S SCIENTIFIC WORK: all relevant material about Einstein‘s scientific work and his contributions to science (try to tie his early work to research being done now in the present). Use approximately 20 references for finding information about Einstein‘s scientific work. The exact numbers of references is not important. Just try to include relevant information and along with 1) put together a 16 page essay. Use books, journals, etc. Basically use any material that may help you in finding information but remember to source it correctly in MLA.
Both 1) AN EXAMINATION OF ALBERT EINSTEIN AS A HISTORICAL FIGURE and 2) AN EXAMINATION OF EINSTEIN‘S SCIENTIFIC WORK should be combined together in an appropriate manner in the major essay. Do NOT include the person’s bio first and then state their work. Integrate both 1) and 2) creatively throughout the 16 page essay.
The intention is to use writing as a method of exploring complex concepts and coming to understand them and their historical development along with an examination of the person who invented them.
The focus should be on writing for a POPULAR rather than a technical audience. Be creative and have fun with it but remember to write in 4th year manner. The writing should be aimed at a popular rather than a professional/technical audience (so think New Yorker, Atlantic Monthly or Harper’s, and NOT Scientific American, or The Journal of Entomology). But remember to include a bibliography in MLA format.
