Those of you who undertook (unit-999) in Semester 1 will remember you were required to conduct a literature review based on one of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards e.g. Medication safety, Clinical handover, Recognising and responding to clinical deterioration in acute health care etc. Taking the Health Services Standard you selected, you are now required to develop a quality improvement project based on the Health Services Standard you addressed previously.
The content of the proposal will include: the background of the project; statement of the problem; significance or importance of the problem; the premise of the project; assumptions and definitions; review of related literature; outline of the project procedure and the use of appropriate improvement approach.
