Topic: John Keats (a Poet)
Length: 1300-1600 words
Process:
1. Review the poems by this poet in out text and decide which poems are the most representative and most important to analyze. Choose at least 2/3 poems. One of his most important poems is : Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art
2. Determine the scope of your paper: poet’s simple biography, unifying themes is the poems, approach to poetry, and his/her significance to poetry
3.Consult at least two outside resources (that is: research that is not contained in the course text) and incorporate your research into your paper. Use resources from WEBSITE/INTERNET ONLY and not from printed text,such as:newspaper/book/novel,etc
4.Cite appropriately from the sources and from the poet’s works
5.be careful to tailor the use of cited passage as support, not substance.
6.Each quote should be integrated into the flow of your paper and should be significant to the point of your discussion.
7.Introduce which poems you will evaluate in either the FIRST of second paragraphs.
8.Do not include WIKIPEDIA, a dictionary, or any other “table-top” resources as counting toward the 2 required sources. Any of these resources can be useful at times for quick searches, but none of them constitute a college level resource.
9. Follow basic MLA essay format include a work cited page and properly cited in-text sources
