Abstract:

Introduction:
< were writing a lab report describing experiments demonstrating an effective new
treatment for Parkinson’s disease, you’d want to write about Parkinson’s disease: what
it is, how one gets it, current treatments, etc. Your report should draw from several
sources and cite references in MLA format. The introduction should also BRIEFLY
summarize what was done in the current experiments and the results. Include the
purpose of the research and your hypothesis.>>
Materials and Methods:
< experiment to answer the research question. There should be enough information that
the experiments could be repeated. For example, if applicable, include the length of the
study, # of subjects, doses, etc. Do not list materials separately.>>
Results:
<< What happened? It is appropriate to include figures in this section. Accompanying
the figures should be a brief description explaining the results. >>
Discussion:
<reported above. State
whether the results supported or caused you to reject/revise your hypothesis. You may
also discuss what you might do differently to continue the research in future
experiments.>>

<report. Be sure to format yor
citations using MLA format.
Some ideas for what to cover in the introduction include:
• The background of DNA, how it was discovered
• The role of DNA in the body
• The importance of DNA in genetic testing, criminal cases, etc.
• Think of this section as a mini report
