Report 1- Topic & Overview – Select one of these three topics:
1) study the OPSCM in a specific company,
2) study the OPSCM in one industry, or
3) study an OPSCM topic of interest that is applicable to multiple industries.
Describe the topic and what you hope to learn. Include a preliminary list of resources you plan to use to research this topic. To select to study one organization, you must have a personal contact who can answer questions about their OPSCM. (Min length is 0.5 single spaced page for an individual paper or 1 ss page for a group paper)
Report 2- Research Findings – If you are researching an organization or industry, then what are the major OPSCM requirements, challenges, and issues? If you are researching a topic of interest, then what are the major OPSCM applications, relevance, and issues? Why is this topic significant to current and future OPSCM? This is the research portion of the paper so use multiple resources and cite them correctly. (Min length is 1.5 ss pages for an individual paper or 2.5 ss pages for a group paper.)
Report 3- Final Paper with Recommendations & Conclusions – The final paper includes the ‘Overview’ and ‘Research’ sections, done previously, and adds a ‘Recommendations and Conclusion” section with your thoughts about what you learned. (Min length of final paper is 3 ss pages for an individual paper or 5 ss pages for a group paper.)
For the last section, if your subject was an organization or industry, report how the OPSCM requirements and challenges, identified in the Research Report, can be met with practices, technology, and design information from the course content and the major opportunities for improvement. If your subject was a topic of interest, report on its major benefits, opportunities in OPSCM and how this topic will impact future operations. (Min length of this last section is 1 ss page for an individual paper or 2 ss pages for a group paper.)
