Guidelines for Individual Strategic Implementation Assignment # 1 In MGMT 4002 we will continue with the individual assignments that you completed in MGMT 4001. Each student is required to write TWO original strategic implementation reports on the same organization you chose for MGMT 4001. You will continue the strategic management process by examining the strategic implementation processes for your assigned company. These two individual assignments will be worth 20% of the total course grade (10% each). (Students who were not in my section of MGMT 4001 please contact me about these assignments) For assignment # 1 you will assess in 6-8 pages the organization’s strategic implementation processes inclusive of their corporate governance structure, ethical frameworks, policies and practices as well as their approach to and implementation of corporate social responsibility initiatives. 1. Describe the leadership / corporate governance structure of the organization inclusive of the Shareholders, Management and the Board of Directors.

a. Identify and describe the key components of the corporate governance structure of the organization such as: i. Stakeholders (internal & external) ii. Dispersion of Ownership iii. Composition of the Board of Directors iv. Governance mechanisms (internal & external)

b. Analyze the strategic leadership / governance mechanisms of the organization with regards to how they have or have not added value to the organization

2. Describe the organizations’ ethical strategies, policies and and/or practices and approach with respect to the following.

a. Determine what ethical framework the organization is most closely aligned with and discuss the implications of that choice for the organization.

b. Assess whether the ethical policies and practices employed are in alignment with good ethical standards or not and provide a rationale for your assessment.

c. Assess the organizations’ overall approach to ethics and the implications of moving forward with this approach.

3. Describe the organizations’ Corporate Social Responsibility strategy with respect to the following: i. Major components of any CSR strategy ii. Triple Bottom Line / 3 P approach

b. Analyze the CSR strategy of the organization with regards to how is has or has not added value to the organization
