Many of the world events around us are conditioned by history. Your job is to start looking for this in the news with a news article. You should want to begin asking yourself how events around the world are connected with the past. For example, why did American cities erupt in demonstrations during the summer of 2020? The answer lies in history, and without understanding that history, you cannot understand what is happening in the United States.
You should post a news article and your analysis of how the events in the news relate to history (50-100 words). It should be related to the temporal scope of the course, i.e., 1900 to the present, as well as the conceptual scope of the course, i.e., the United States. Your response can be more than 100 words. It’s more about the quality than the word count!
Start by briefly summarizing the news, and then relate it to the history of cocaine coming from Honduras, Vanezuela, and Colombia. Relate it to the Biden administration as well (some info on President Biden can be found within the article)
Tie in the news article with American history.
