Describe how you believe you will use the tools and strategies that you developed in FYS as you move forward in your education? (like issue mapping, collaborations in small groups, learning about questions and “question- listing” (Question Formation Technique- QFT), writing about the videos we watched that show various points of view that you might not normally think about, writing the free writes that ask imaginative questions to have to look at yourself in new ways, exploring the Messy Problem that you chose to examine, and even looking at messy problems/ Guiding Questions in the unusual way that doesn’t ask for answers but instead, to look through different lenses (nodes). Can these things be applied to your other courses? And how can they connect to the ELOs?
The paper should be more about how you’ve grown as an individual as that growth relates to the seven FYS learning objectives below. Use specific examples from the semester to demonstrate growth. The examples you select should not be limited to your FYS course. Based on the list of activities/strategies above, how do you see connections between your different courses this semester? ( I took English, math and management courses).
This paper is a “meta-analysis” (looking at yourself as a learner) of the entire semester’s body of work, it should encompass most or all of the seven FYS learning objectives. And think of examples from the class where you might have used the ELOs below:
