Book review on either David Karp’s book, Is it me or my meds? (Guilford Press) or Robert Whitaker’s Anatomy of an epidemic (Random House). Your Book Review should be three-page (maximum, double-spaced, perfectly APA formatted).
Review should include a rich but brief description of the book’s:
- content and style,
- a review of its strengths and weaknesses from your perspective,
- an analytical discussion of its potential contributions to the field,
- its specific impact on your thinking and you’re learning.
Reviewing exemplars of this assignment and already published book reviews (found on Canvas and in most social work journals) has been helpful to other students in getting a “feel” for a book review’s usual style.
