Question – How is rural Arabic perceived in the modern city of Cairo.
Write a 1,000-word literature review on existing research in relation to the topic you choose. You must identify (some of) the major pieces of research that have been carried out on your chosen topic and summarize this research effectively.
Your mark will be based on your choice of materials, the accuracy and quality of your summaries of the literature and the structure and presentation of your review (including your writing). You should include at least 5 different pieces of primary research in your review. These sources must be directly cited in the body of the text and appear in a “References” section at the end of the review. The sources you select must be academic (books, articles in scholarly journals). Do not include references to websites, encyclopaedias or class lectures. Please adopt a consistent referencing style (with the preferred style being the Harvard system of parenthetical citations in text, not footnotes; see next page).
While the assignment is to produce a literature review, your work should not just be a string of quotations from other sources. Quotations are obviously necessary, but your task is to select the important findings in the relevant literature, summarize it in your own words and construct a coherent narrative of research that has been carried out in the field.
