• The Final paper is a group project that involves developing a social business proposal focused on community change for Alzheimer’s Community in Hawaii. The group paper will examine a community of your choice and will comprise the following sections: 1) a description of the community outlining its key characteristics, location, demographic, history, strength, resources and problems); 2) a selected program or service that specifically addressed the needs of that community. This section will detail what the program or service is; its approach, its objectives and how it delivers to the community; 3) an analysis of the organization’s strengths and challenges; 4) a business proposal that identifies how this organization could better serve its target population. All sections should be based on your thorough assessment and conclusions as a group. NOTE: You are encouraged to use power point and/or other digital technologies available to you, including video and image editing, to compile a CD/DVD version of your presentation which could then be presented back to your community. We will discuss this further in class. The paper will be 8-10 pages (note this total does not include your bibliography or appendices section). The paper is worth 40 % and submitted at the end of group presentations. The written paper is worth 30% and the group presentations is worth 10% of the total. Group presentations will be 30-minutes long with a 5-10 minute Q & A.
