“When we look closely at how people utilize library spaces, it becomes increasingly clear that all library offerings are services, including those things that are often overlooked…” (Library Service Design).
Students will work in small groups (3-4) to design a service that addresses a challenge for a specific user group. A service can be a series of workshops, a space redesign, a digital tool, etc. Past examples include a podcast for a rare book library, an international student ambassador program at an academic library, or a film club for teens at a public library.
This assignment has multiple components. Students will submit drafts of the project proposal and logic model and the instructors will provide feedback. It is expected that students review the feedback and make revisions. A grade will not be given until the final submission.
