Where the use of assessment is particularly strong, leaders ensure it has a formative role in improving teaching and helps both teachers and students better understand the level of learning. In these schools, leaders actively support assessment practices to identify the progress students are making across the curriculum and participate in instructional planning to use the data to create lessons that support learning for all students.
