Scholarly Research Paper: Gather and present in your words the current research available
on a curriculum topic of your choice. It is suggested that you consider gathering the current
research available on the focus of your Curriculum Project. As you are preparing plans to carry
out curriculum changes in your Curriculum Project, focusing your research efforts on that
particular area will add to the strength of your plan. If the topic or subject area is limited in
available research, please visit with me about alternative topics for this assignment.
You are to present the findings of your literature/research search synthesizing the information in
a 4-5 page paper. You must utilize the I.D. Weeks Library online databases to seek out current
(within 10 years) and relevant to your topic research, and research-based literature to
synthesize in your scholarly paper. The purpose of the research assignment is for you to
become more informed of the topic of your Curriculum Project and better equipped to seek out
scholarly literature and research findings to support your current and/or future administrative
tasks. Ultimately, the goal is that you will develop the capacity and desire to turn to the research
and scholarly literature for assistance in determining most effective options. A search of
databases will lead to you synthesizing existing research literature and presenting an objective
view of the current scholarship.
For this Scholarly Research Paper, do not include your opinions or “I” statements and refrain
from inserting judgement statements or personal reflection statements. This paper is expected
to reflect the most recent research on your selected topic and be written at a graduate level, free
from grammatical errors, word processed, and double-spaced using 12 pt. font. Requirements
include a title page, running head, page numbers, and a reference list. Accurate APA formatting
is required. All requirements must be met to earn full credit. Due last week of class (Module 16).
Scholarly Research Paper Rubric provides descriptions of expectations intended to assist in
preparing papers for submission and that will be used to assign points. Papers will be graded
within one week after due date-all grades and feedback will be conveyed to you through D2L.
