Now is the time to put all of the knowledge you have acquired over the semester to work.
You will write a research paper related to comedy/satire and the way people use it to remain informed about the world in which we live. You will argue a point (your view of the use of satire/comedy as a vehicle to deliver the news), one that you support with appropriate and sufficient evidence. You must use at least five academic sources and two electronic sources (video or audio clips) to support your argument.
You can choose from one of the topics discussed in class during Weeks Three and Four if you want.
This assignment will require you to effectively display knowledge of the ENG 106 Learning Outcomes discussed in Week One.
A successful research paper will have clear, effective writing, have a clear thesis statement, and have ample and relevant supporting evidence. Effective summarization, analysis and synthesizing will be present throughout this assignment as well.
This paper should be seven to nine pages in length. In addition, be sure to include a Works Cited page.
