Job Analysis/Appraisal
You are an I/O psychologist working for a company that is experiencing rapid growth. Resources are
stretched to the limit. Employees are, in some cases, doing more than one job to meet ever-rising product
demand. Management approaches you and asks you to determine what new position(s) the company needs
to create to address its growth.
1) An abstract is not required.
2) discuss how you would determine what job(s) the company needs to
create to address its rapid growth. Support your strategies with current research.
3) address the following issues:
a) The process you will use to determine the job(s) the company needs to create and fill to address
its rapid growth effectively.
b) How you will determine the qualifications for the person/people who will be hired to fill the job(s)
created by the new position(s).
c) The process you will use to hire the person to fill the position. Include any assessments you will
give prospective employees.
d) How you will conduct the performance appraisal of the person hired to fill the position.
e) The criteria you will use to determine whether this newly created job is/was most effective in
helping the company address its rapid growth and how long you will wait to make this job
assessment.
