Assignment: Data strategy for “The House”
In this assignment, the student will formulate a data strategy for “The House” in three parts. The strategy must use the theories and terms which have been presented at the course (course files attached).
First part (4 pages, 300 words per page) should explain a section (1) on the research on technological change and data use in organizations. Second part (6 pages, 300 words per page) should describe “The House” (the organization’s characteristics, vision and challenges) and formulate a specific strategic challenge, which will be visualized using two data visualizations (they can use 1 or 2 of the 6 pages). Here you will use the quantitative sets of data (see attached files). There must be a close correlation between the strategic challenge and data visualization. (Two or more data sets must be combined for the visualization). Third part (5 pages, 300 words per page) describes “The house’s” ability to make decisions based on data (qualitative and quantitative) in the future. Organizational changes, management style, and technical infrastructure and other things can be involved. Here you can work freely across the provided data sets, analytical approaches, literature and the free imagination. The theme for the second and third part is value. The theme is about different types of values, how they exist side by side, and how to prioritize between them. The theme suggests that you compare or compile different value measurements, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Formulate a problem that you will describe. Challenges to be addressed in the second and third part:
- How do we ensure a good balance between quantitative and qualitative value measurements? That is, balance between economic, artistic and Social values of an experience?
- How can we bring up/mention the use of data among employees and volunteers as a value that can strengthen the house?
- How can we visualize the different types of value created in the House in a way that is easily understood?
- What computer practice In terms of organization and governance should there be about data to better understand the value generated in “The House”?
