Assessment Description:
The purpose of this task is to:
- Select one case (we are using Tesla Electric Vehicle Company)
- Provide a background to the problem
- Write a clearly defined problem or opportunity statement
- Use and visually represent creative tool/s and method/s to develop three possible solutions
- Select one possible solution by applying the decision-making technique and justify why the solution selected is the preferred one
- Prepare an implementation plan by incorporating an appropriate change model
- Provide recommendations focusing on practical next steps.
A minimum of 3 peer-reviewed academic journal articles must be integrated into your report. In addition, you should refer to industry reports, published media articles and other sources of information to provide a background to the problem.
You will need to be able to demonstrate the end to end process, explaining each step and the process undertaken to arrive at the recommended solution and implementation plan.
Please follow the report writing structure explained in the UTS Business School Writing Guide. Make sure to present a report that is business-ready.
Assessment Criteria:
- Identification of problem, disruption and/or opportunity in business
- Explanation and demonstration of the rationale for creative tool selection and its application (using visualisation)
- Generation of alternative solutions with clear links to the problem, disruption or opportunity and assessment of the feasibility and viability of the possible solutions
- Clarity of implementation plan and implications for business managers and staff (using visual tools such as Work Breakdown Structure, Gantt chart, risk likelihood analysis and risk matrix)
- Quality of the report for a business audience
You will present your collaborative team project live on Zoom. Presentations will take place during tutorial class time in Week 12. Everyone in the team is expected to present their contributions to the team project. Presentation marks will be given individually.
