Chosen Topic: Discrimination. Discrimination can affect health outcomes and health disparities.
Students will select an issue related to social determinants of health (Discrimination is the topic chosen here) and consider social, political, financial, environmental, regulatory, and individual influences. Students will describe the effect of these influences on the individual, community, and society. Students will review resources on the topic from a wide range of sources – nursing, economic, professional organizations, non-governmental organizations and summarize the current understandings and potential actions that can mitigate any negative impacts. This is a 5-Page scholarly paper, in APA format, with at least five (5) relevant scholarly resources that were published within the last 5 years. Rubric below.

What are social determinants of health?
Social determinants of health (SDOH) are the conditions in the environments where people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age that affect a wide range of health, functioning, and quality-of-life outcomes and risks.
SDOH can be grouped into 5 domains:
