Use the chart below as a guide and be sure to follow APA 6th style. Primary resources differ from secondary resources. Primary resources describe the actual research by the author of the research. Secondary resources (such as Educational Leadership and Kappan) are helpful for discussions, but they report the research of others. You, as instructional leader need to read the primary research yourself and form your own opinions about its generalizability to your setting. Also, internet websites do not constitute a primary source unless you retrieve peer reviewed articles from the site.
