Every business environment faces the risk of being unsafe to the employees. The lack of safety becomes a liability to the owner of the business or the company in such a situation where an employee suffers an accident that brings about physical harm or injury. In a medium sized company, many safety issues exist (Santos et al., 2013). Most of these issues stand to create an unsafe working environment that creates a challenge for the employees to work comfortably in. Furthermore, the lack of safety challenges the productivity of the employees greatly. Therefore, there arises the need to work on making the working environment safer to ensure fostering of productivity and lowering risk to the employees.
A key issue to consider when creating a strategy to manage the safety of a business environment would be the types of risks presented and the various appropriate ways to tackle the same. A medium sized company faces few safety challenges that a large company. Therefore, it would be prudent to consider the safety measures to be taken in an effort to curb the occurrence of accidents in the working environment. It would, therefore, be necessary to implement safety procedures through the installment of a safety management system (Santos et al., 2013). More important would be the employment of adequately trained personnel with regard to the implementation of safety procedures.
The size of companies may be a great factor that guides the types of safety procedures to be undertaken to create a safe working environment. However, there is a certain specificity attached to the implementation of the appropriate safety management procedures that is mainly guided by the business operation occur on a normal business day. This information would be very important factor to consider in the actualization of a safe working environment.
