Second Paper Topics
Please choose one of the following topics and write a short (3-4 page) paper on it. You should aim to get onto the fourth page but not off the fifth. The paper should be 12 point font, double-spaced, and have 1 inch margins on all sides.
- Explain and evaluate Descartes’ argument in Meditation Six for the claim that minds are really distinct from bodies.
- Explain and evaluate Anselm’s proof of God’s existence.
Please do not consult any external sources; your paper must be submitted to the “Turn It In” site on Moodle which will check for plagiarism.
You do not need a bibliography for the paper. You should refrain from quoting from the text, unless you are planning to discuss specific wording from the quote. To cite the text, when it would be unclear that Plato or Aristotle says what you say he does, simply use the page number, like this (23).
