Question One
A leader plays an important role in making changes that affect the whole organization. There are many considerations when it comes to implementing changes in the organization. One needs to consider how these changes will affect he employees and their alliances. Other factors that require consideration include the environment, competition, the economy, and cultures of the organization (Campanale, 2004). Moreover, change can lead to a variety of results, which can be either positive or negative. Nonetheless, the qualities the leaders possess determine the nature of these consequences. Therefore, when a leader makes changes, high levels of discipline and integrity are necessary to prevent bias.
Communication is vital in implementing changes in organizations. Clarity and timeliness of the message is of essence in explaining the nature of the change to all related parties (Hunsicker, 2004). Failure of the leader to communicate may lead to unsuccessful change or even failure of the changes to take place.
Question two
In the workplace, there are several departmental leaders and the overall leader. This organizational structure creates a hierarchy and each leader has their unique responsibilities (Horton, 2004). In such a situation, all leaders should have accountability, which is a necessary trait in most leaders. In the event a mistake occurs, the person responsible should be accountable, regardless of the consequences, which helps smooth the running of the organization and encourages employees to take responsibility for their actions.
Rewarding employees with good results motivates employees. This makes the employees to work with enthusiasm as they compete for the reward. This competition increases efficiency among the work force and promises better results, also aims to appreciate an employee, and makes them loyal to their organization (Creech, 2004). Therefore, organizations should embrace rewarding of employees to motivate them.
