General Instructions:
For this project you will write a psychoautobiography of your own life. Based on what we have covered in class and what the text covers, you will focus on the influences that have shaped your personality. For example, you can use any combination of the following perspectives: trait, psychodynamic, psychosocial, biological, humanistic, cognitive, behavioral and social/cultural.
This is NOT an autobiography (life story of events), but a psychoautobiography (analysis of your unique personality through the use of psychological theories and research). You will be using autobiographical information, but your goal is to explain your personality by analyzing key events in your life based on personality perspectives.
As an alternative to focusing on different perspectives, you may choose to write your psychoautobiography from one perspective (e.g. Psychoanalytic), chronologically (e.g. Erikson’s developmental stages) or thematically (e.g. focus on one period or stage of your life).
Your paper needs to be typed, double-spaced using 12 font, 1200 words (approximately 3.5 pages), NOT including your reference sheet. You should clearly identify 5 concepts from Intro to Psych (looking in your textbook’s glossary is a good choice) (*Guidelines #’s 2 and 3) Concepts are specific ideas, not general topics. (So, a chapter topic– like memory– is not a concept. Episodic memory is a concept.) Use the terminology and information you learned in this course. Identify your concept with a section heading in bold font.
MINIMUM 3 references, one of which should be from the book, Myers, D. (2016). Psychology in everyday life . Possible 200 points.
