I agree with this statement, people can get more benefit from traveling in their own country than from traveling to foreign countries. I have two points to prove this statement.
First, I think low-incomes people benefit more from traveling in their own country than from traveling to foreign countries. Because traveling to foreign countries need spend a lot of money. For example, traveling to foreign countries need take the flight ticket, and generally airplane ticket is very expensive. Thus Low-income people cannot afford to pay for a flight. When low-income people go to foreign countries, they mostly need to hire some translators, which will cost a lot of money. If they travel in their own country, they will not have any of these expenses. For example, I have an older brother who has just graduated from college and has not yet found a stable job. He only earns five thousand dollars a month. He traveled to England last summer, and his round-trip airfare has already cost him two months’ salary. And he also found a translator, which cost him half a month’s salary. His saving can only support him stay England four days. When he returned home, he said it was the worst trip he had ever taken. He spent all his savings but had only stayed for four days and lived there very bad hotel. But if he chooses to travel domestically, he can stay in the best hotels and have fun and stay for a long time. So that is why I think low-incomes People benefit more from traveling in their own country than from traveling to foreign countries.
Secondly, I think the second reason why traveling domestically is better than abroad is that it is more environmentally friendly to travel domestically. Because if people want to travel abroad, people can only take the plane, which will cause pollution to the ecological environment. If people travel to China, people can ride bicycles or take buses and other public transportation, which can be more environmentally friendly. For example, my uncle went on a trip to Qingdao this year. He went by bus. He also used public transportation in Qingdao. He only spent five thousand dollars when he came back from staying there for half a month, and he also protected nature.
For the above two reasons, I think the benefits of traveling domestically are more than the benefits of traveling abroad.
