Instructions: For this case study, you will develop a plan for research-driven intervention, based on the organization you assessed in your previous practical on Organizational Diagnosis. For the purpose of this assignment, assume you have been hired as a consultant to advise upper-management on how to combat employee dissatisfaction. As with the previous practical, I strongly encourage you to select an organization with which you are familiar.
Your final product should be 3-4 double-spaced pages in length, and may include tables or charts where appropriate to help visualize relevant information. However, tables and charts should be supplementary and will not count toward the page requirement for this assignment. Feel free to use additional peer-reviewed resources where appropriate.
Your intervention should be based on the action research approach, which was described in the lecture on Organizational Interventions. Your intervention plan should include the following elements, described in as much detail as possible.
1. A description of the “problem” to be studied (i.e., a summary of your assessment of the organization).
2. A description of two potential interventions and how you would implement them. Here, you’ll need to justify choice of these interventions based on the assessment results.
3. A description of the objective measure you plan to use for your baseline and follow-up data collection. Provide examples of questionnaire items where appropriate.
4. A description of how you would analyze the data from the baseline and follow-up assessment.
5. A description of any organizational limitations that would affect your ability to use your interventions and how you would work around those limitations.
Please note that this assignment is intentionally vague. As a consultant, you will always have to work from scratch and use what’s given to you to do your job effectively. This assignment is intended to be practice. For now, you should not assume this will be your final product.
Grading and Evaluation: This assignment is worth 8 points.
