Make America Great Again
The “Make America Great Again” campaign as exmlified by President Donald Trump has attracted support and criticism alike. As McCarthy notes in an article in the Guardian, this new call has attracted a movement that can be traced to Trumps first campaign to ensure that the U.S. remains a major world super power (n.p.). The United States of America used to be so great on issues such as politics and business than itscurrent status. With time, the United States has become less influential in other countries as compared to the previous years. Thus, understanding the causes of the loss of glory is important to help the United States’ policy makers to plan on how to make the country great again. The United States can become great again once the country forms new constructive policies, new healthcare systems, and partnerships that are lucrative for American businesses and citizens.
The greatness of the United States comes from factors such as great leadership, immigrants and proper geographical locations. First, the country has a history of great presidents such as George Washington and JF Kennedy, who served as role models to other leaders in the country (Fareed 9). This admiration for proper leadership manifests in the country’s acknowledgment of heroic activities done by the leaders. Besides, the country gained greatness from welcoming a large number of immigrants who provided necessary labor for America to prosper economically. On the contrary, the country has become less glorious due to factors such as uncontrolled immigration and globalization. Immigration has promoted the spread of Islamic extremist in the United States while globalization diminishes America’s geographical advantages and erodes American unity hence making the country less glorious.
On the contrary, the United States can be great again. Policy makers in America can achieve this through three strategies. First, they can reassess and strategize new ways of replacing or bettering the Affordable Care Act. This will help the United States to maintain a healthy population for everyone in the country (Cameron 7). Consequently, Americans and everyone residing in the U.S. will stay healthy and focused on nation rebuilding instead of fighting diseases. Second, the United States should engage in partnership deals that are lucrative for American businesses (Obama 5). This would help to reduce the threats facing America and revitalize the collapsing businesses. Thirdly, the United States should form new policies that can help the country and seize the policies that are bad for America’s future (Fareed 12). This would contribute to reducing useless policies and help build essential ones that will help the country become great again.
America can become great again once the nation forms new constructive policies, new healthcare systems and partnerships that are lucrative for American businesses. The decision to reinstate the nation’s former status is achievable once the policy makers implement the three strategies that this paper has described. These strategies are practical and they would make the country strong again, both economically and politically.
