| ISP Survey: 2023 Strategic Plan |
Thank you for taking the time to reflect on and share your experience with the Ignatian Spirituality Project (ISP) in creation of our 2023 strategic plan. The survey has only 3 questions and should take about 15 minutes. Your responses are anonymous. (All questions require responses; please note “n/a” or “no opinion” if not applicable.)
Before you begin the survey –
Take a few minutes to prayerfully cast your mind back over the past year… recall your involvement as a board member, possible participation in an overnight retreat, event or other ISP program. Remember the people of the ISP ministry—other board members, ISP volunteers, alumni–bringing to mind those faces as you can, and savoring the memories and feelings that arise. Take a few minutes to call to mind any moments, words, or conversations that had an impact on you.
Then, invite the Holy Spirit to help you especially notice what brought you joy and energy. Notice, too, any discouraging or disheartening moments. Finally, offer your thanks to God/your Higher Power for all of what you’ve seen and experienced in your reflection.
I am an Alumni and witness coordinator.
I love that these retreat are recovery supported. Although the individuals are fanstastic . We need more color on our team and board. I am remiss to say we need more color.
Question Title
*Much of my work and volunteer activities of the past decade have focused on working with men and women coming out of homelessness and addiction. In 2006, I was introduced to the Ignatian Spirituality Project (ISP), an organization that provides retreats to women who are homeless and in recovery from addiction (www.ignatianspiritualityproject.org). My first ISP retreat was an amazing experience. On that retreat, I met women of faith and integrity and found a community of likeminded women who were struggling with some of the same things I was. Being in the place I was at the time, it meant a lot to me. I had given up on myself and I never envisioned myself as a leader or that I had something to offer. This retreat required me to look at me, to be vulnerable and to share in an authentic way. It was scary but also liberating. In 2008, I became witness coordinator for the Chicago ISP women’s team and shortly thereafter joined the national ISP staff as Program Assistant for Team Formation. In this capacity, I have traveled all over the country training other women as witnesses, helping to open new ISP programs and facilitating women’s retreats. It is a privilege to be able to help other women see that they too can develop a relationship with God and take steps to reclaim their lives.
