Assignment 1 – Hypothesis Construction & Questionnaire Development
Use this scenario to answer the following questions
Scenario – Police attitudinal research has underscored the importance of citizens’ attitudes in policing. In particular, it is suggested that citizens’ favorable attitudes toward the police lead to cooperative and formidable relationship between the police and citizens.
For the above scenario please complete each of the stated tasks.
A) State the research problem/question based on your understanding of the scenario.
B) Formulate a null and alternative hypothesis from this research question.
C) Propose a brief study design to test this hypothesis. Be sure to state the target population, sample frame, sampling method (should be reasonable and applicable), how observations will be made/collected, and identify issues of reliability and validity that may impact the study findings.
D) Develop a questionnaire that you will use to collect data for the study.
Feel free to be as creative as you feel fit with your responses, possibly adding real theory, study samples and settings.
This proposal should be around 5 pages long not including the references. I would like it to have real-world implications however use creative methods to accomplish the task.
Someone with a background in research methods and research proposals would be ideal for this assignment. If you do not have a clue about what I am speaking please do not submit a request for this assignment.
