The research project should be submitted in an academic paper format and should follow all APA guidelines. The paper should be no more than 5 pages (This excludes the title page and references page) and double-spaced. The paper should be in the following format:
- Introduction. Define and describe the health issue or problem your paper is about. Give a general overview of the health issue or problem in the U.S. What did statistics say about the health issue or problem as it relates to minorities? (5 points)
- Causes of the health issue or problem. Discuss atleast 5 causes/origin of the health issue or problem in the U.S. What are the symptoms of the health issue or problem? (5 points)
- Effects of the health issue or problem. Discuss atleast 5 effects or impact of the health issue or problem on individuals, families and minority groups? Which group of people does the health issue or problem mostly affect? Discuss 4 stereotypes that exist for the group affected by the health issue or problem? Give examples. (10 points)
- Treatment methods. Discuss atleast 5 treatment methods/programs that are available for addressing the health issue/problem? Give concrete examples. You can use some classroom materials to support your explanations. What has been the response of families, social workers, psychiatrists, medical professionals, local and state governments to addressing the health issue or problem? Identify and discuss any 2 programs and institutions within the city/state (the city of Atlanta/Georgia or your own city or state) that work to address the problem? (10 points)
- Recommendations. Discuss any 3 recommendations you suggest that can be used to addressing the health issue or problem? (5 points)
- References. Provide all papers/articles/videos cited in the paper. Minimum of 5 references (5 points)
