40 points possible – 10 points for your class presentation and 30 points for your written submission.
As your final project for this course, you’ll be writing a reflective paper on Guiding Young Children in Group Settings. Your paper should include:
- Title page with your name, paper title, course information and date (5pts)
- 5-6 pages (12 font, double spaced) for the *body of your paper (14pts)
- At least 3 references we’ve used this quarter (6pts – 2 points for each correctly used and cited reference)
- Reference Page (5pts)
In the body of your paper:
- Introduction: start off with your Positive Guidance Philosophy Statement. You can use what you submitted early this semester, and update that information if your philosophy has changed or grown through the semester.
- Supporting paragraphs: include how looking below the iceberg, classroom environment, teaching prosocial skills, predictable routines, and clear, simple expectations all support children’s positive behaviors.
- Include at least three specific strategies (STAR, Time Machine, Visual Schedules, ABC Chart, etc.) that support the information you’re sharing.
- Conclusion: end with a reflection on what you’ve learned in this class and how you’ll apply this information in your current or future work with young children.
