Complete an essay based on the reading of The Life and Hymns of Fanny J. Crosby by American writer Edith L. Blumhofer. The essay should provide an examination of the literary merits of Fanny Crosby. Provide some kind of overview or introduction to the complete works of Crosby or give some sense of her whole body of works. Central to your essay should be an interpretation or analysis of one to three works (1-3) based on a close reading or examination of Crosby’s hymns. Support for your reading or analysis must come from the texts themselves and from criticism about those texts. Your essay of five pages should be typed, double spaced with at least one-inch margins with a Works Cited page containing primary sources and at least three secondary sources (criticism, biography, the Bible or other related works). |
