Engaging in teaching HSIE
Role:
Create one object that a teacher could use to support teaching about the topic and stage. You will show this, explain what it is and how it could be used in a HSIE lesson.
Suggest at least one quality and stage appropriate picture book that could be used to explore the HSIE
so what exactly I need you to do is:
- create 5 bullet points
- then I need you to write about 400-450 words from those same bullet points but explained in more details
THIS IS WHAT I WANT MY BULLET POINTS TO BE ABOUT:
bullet 1- i need you to say that I’ll create a short quiz (about 4 questions) for the kids of stage 1. to take with them and answer at the Sydney Observatory . this will be my object that a teacher could use to support teaching about the topic. also explain how the quiz will help the students learn.
Bullet 2- how the western people created telescope, and what do they see in the telescope, compared with how the indigenous people seeing things without a telescope.
Bullet 3- talk about how the milky way in the sky is seen differently from a different parts in the world (different parts of the hemisphere). example here in Australia the indigenous people see an (emu) like shape. where as in different place they see it in a different shape. state where and what shape was it seen as. and say how different places differ from others and how people see things differently ..
Bullet 4- how did the indigenes people see the milky way without a telescope and their views. and how do the westerners see it with a telescope and their views on it.
Bullet 5- now I want you to find a picture book and about aboriginal that will be related to one of the points above and talk a little bit about is. and attach the front cover of the book a. (so just a picture of the cover of the picture book that you find) so i want it to be kids picture book.
(the milky way that I’m talking about is the one that I saw at the Sydney observatory.)
NOTE: I have given you the 5 pain points, i want you to keep the bullet points simple and understandable. and i want you to explain them further in that 450 words for my presentation. I do not want you to write long bullet points. just to explain my point. do not leave the bullet points as I wrote it.
