Watch the documentary (Documentary: 270 Years of Resistance (1993). Alanis Obomsawin (Director).
https://www.nfb.ca/film/kanehsatake_270_years_of_resistance). This documentary chronicles the dispute between the Kanien’héhaka (Mohawk), the Quebec police, and the Canadian military over the building of a proposed golf course in 1990 in Oka, Quebec. Once you have watched the documentary, write a critical reflection and answer the following questions: To what degree can you identify gendered roles among each of the groups (the Mohawk, the police, the military, the non-Indigenous civilians)? In what ways are they meaningful? Do you notice any similarities/differences between other cases of peace activism and conflict that we have explored in this course? What would
peace look like between the Canadian state and Indigenous peoples in Canada?
Please ensure that the critical analysis is primarily analytical and not descriptive (do not provide a mere summary of the information). Be sure to provide some critiques. Ensure that the paper is organized in a systematic way by adding a thesis statement and roadmap to the introduction. Also, try to discuss some of the implications of the case study and try to make connections to the weeks readings (will be provided)
Since your reflection is so short you should NOT break it up with sub-headings
