Discussion 1
The United States population is becoming increasing more ethnically and racially diverse. The 2010 United States census showed that about 35% of the population is now identified as being part of a minority group. This percentage value is actually 5% higher than the value gathered in 2000 census. As the population changes and becomes more diverse, should healthcare? From an ethical standpoint, do you think that the medical community should market and invest in healthcare facilities that are racially and ethnically specific? Also, if healthcare facilities do start to treat patients based on race and ethnicity, do you think that everyone will be treated fairly? Please share your thoughts.
