- Rationale
The purpose of this work is to assess the extent to which you have achieved Intended Learning Outcomes. It gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of research on contemporary issues in various areas of management, including arguments, problems, controversies and dilemmas. Debate and critical evaluations of these issues analysed and discussed in the lectures and seminars could be utilised and demonstrated in this assignment, by way of critically evaluating and applying key ideas and themes learned from this unit to the company of your choice. The business world is constantly changing, increasingly risky and, however, also providing new opportunities, the business management must respond proactively and effectively to these dynamic changes. Especially in this globalised era, business bodies are required to strategically respond to these changes regionally, nationally and internationally. You can draw on both strategic management and marketing-related aspects of business-to-business and business-to-consumers relationships with the help of key ideas and themes of the unit that utilise inter-relational perspectives.
- The learning outcomes being assessed
This individual assignment focuses on the fulfilment of the Intended Learning Outcomes
1) Develop a critical understanding and appreciation of contemporary issues in various areas of management;
2) Collect, compile and analyse relevant data and information of a range of contemporary issues in various areas of management;
3) Critically evaluate a range of contemporary issues in various areas of management and corresponding strategic management decisions.
4) Present the data, critical analysis, findings and conclusion in academically well-written paper
- Overview of assignment
- Word limit: 5,000 words (absolutely maximum). It’s critical that the word count is observed strictly.
- The contents of a model assignment – paper are:
- a) Title, name of company, Table of contents – Word Count
- b) Abstract (brief summary of your work – 200 words maximum –NOT INCLUDED IN WORD COUNT
- c) Introduction (250 words)
- d) Literature Review (1,900 words)
- e) Analysis and Findings (2,100 words)
- f) Conclusion (750 words)
- g) References (only those used in the text)
- The title, table of contents, the abstract, the references and the appendices are not included in the word count
- Whilst the total of word count of 5,000 words is mandatory; the above subdivision of word allocation is indicative.
- The work will be marked on the basis of the justification you provide for your arguments, the applicability of the relevant theory and the managerial relevance of your work.
