b. A brief statement as to why you selected that option
c. An outside source that supports your conclusion; this can be a reference to a book, website, journal article, etc. - Your post can be no more than 800 characters and no fewer than 600 characters. Your post should be in your original words, not in quotes or citations. In-person discussions are short, so your challenge is to be concise and articulate to demonstrate your understanding of the course. Case Study and Resources
Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is a frequent topic of conversation in the scientific and health communities. Specifically, the effects that UV light has on the planet have certainly become a concern as the world witnesses more connected phenomena related to the atmosphere and health of living organisms.
There has been insight leading to the study of UV effects as topics such as global warming have become more prevalent. Other ideas and implementations have led to a surge in usage and support of UV light as a viable energy source via solar panels.
Imagine you are expected to present a grant proposal backing a reputable cause for UV research. You have settled on three potential pathways to extend your research. Module 2 of your Chemistry Lab course explored the states of matter and the effects of temperature and pressure. Also, Module 6 emphasized the effects of light waves and variables of light.

The earth is covered by over 70% of water, appearing in liquid and solid form. Construct an initial argument outlining why it is vital for the grant committee to support an in-depth study of the impact of ultraviolet radiation on the aquatic system of the planet. - Option B: Ozone Layer Impact
The ozone layer is what protects the earth from harmful ultraviolet rays. Scientists, in recent years, have highlighted the depletion of ozone. Present a stance defending these claims, and sway the grant committee to support your efforts on the basis of protecting life (plant, animal, and human) on earth. - Option C: Green Energy Potential
UV light harvesting has become more widespread as it has been shown to be an effective form of energy. It has become common practice to install solar panels on one’s home or other buildings as a source of green energy. Submit a proposition that will encourage the grant committee to fund your work to expand the use of solar panels as a better long term energy source.
