Memorandum (30 points)
For this deliverable, you will continue to assume the role of project manager regarding the development of your organization’s social media platform. To guide your work, you will draw from the readings in the course textbook as well as our class discussions and employ rhetorical strategies that are responsive to the communication demands of the following scenario:
Your project team has been working diligently on compiling and analyzing research regarding the ways that social media can aid in the awareness of organizations on college campuses for current and/or future students. You want to update your advisor on the progress of your team’s work, and you have decided to compose an internal memorandum in which you communicate to your advisor some (or all) of the following information (which can be made up at your discretion): current trends with social media usage for the visibility of organizations, sources you have reviewed, initial research findings, primary concerns with creating social media sites for the organization, types of social media used for raising awareness, implications of research findings for your organization, problems/concerns with your research process, anticipated completion date of research, etc.
Objectives
The objectives for this project will allow you to show your ability to:
· Write an effective memo that meets genre and assignment guidelines
· Present information in a clear and cohesive way
· Anticipate the audiences’ diverse structural and personal backgrounds in writing
· Show an ability to compose a document for internal use that acts to: remind employees/members of agendas/policies/to give updates, etcetera.
Format
· Please make sure your memo follows basic formatting guidelines

· Use block style (left align all text)
· Follow MLA or APA format for text (and citations).
· If citations are used within the text, make sure to include a reference list
at the bottom of memo

Greeting/Salutation ***Greetings and/or salutations are not needed in memos, so do not include that in this (or any other) memo***

Clearly states the purpose/main point of the document

Provide need-to-know information
· Headings
· Longer memos should include headings to help readers identify the structure of the text. In some cases, you might choose to include graphics to support the written text.
· Headings are not required for this memo; however, you do have the option to use them.
Conclusion Thank the reader Re-state the main point Look to the future
Signature ***Signatures are not needed in memos, so do not include that in this (or any other) memo***
