Criteria for Article Summary Assignments
1. Read the assigned article carefully.
2. Your critique must be typed in Word, 12-point font, 1” margins on all sides, double spaced, and at least one page in length. I would suggest you plan to write 3 or 4 paragraphs.
4. In the first paragraph, state the purpose of the article (who is the targeted audience, why does this article need to be written, etc).
5. In the second paragraph, explain one key point. You can either add a second key point to this paragraph or make it a third paragraph. Provide examples from the article and cite them following APA citation models. (see examples given below)
6. In the last paragraph, describe what this article means to you. What experiences have you had with the topic? What do you take away from it?
7. Finally, add References at the end and include the APA citation for the article. There will only be one reference with the critique and summary.
