Applications of Stem Cell Research
Jha et al. (2013) state that kidney disease has been an issue of global concern since millions of patients suffer from conditions attached to kidney problems (264). The recognition of the importance stem cell in the comprehending the causes of diseases and coming up with therapies to treat it is a substantial solution towards the kidney diseases. Therefore, I strongly consent with the embracing of stem cell research in promoting the health of the community. In regards to the code of practice for the use of stem cell line, projects that appreciate the adult cell lines for valuable purposes only should be funded. In this perspective, I would advocate for funding of adult stem cell research for relevant purposes only.
Stem Cells
The stem cells are distinct cells in the human body that have the ability to give a similar copy of themselves. These cells can similarly differentiate into other types of cells. Use of these advancements in medicine scope can be utilized in repairing the body cells or tissues. Nicholus and Tusi (2014) state that in the past years, the CBPR practitioners have shifted their focus on changing policies and the community behaviors and environments hence diversifying on the methods and approaches such as the use of these stem cells in treating kidney remedies(13).
Use of stem cells in medical research
Application of the stem cells in medical research in kidney conditions treatment need the observation of various ethical issues (Tasoglu & Demirci, 2013). Use of the human embryo is a matter which can be negatively actualized through application if some illegal means that are not ethical in the medicine scope. The use of the human embryo is governed by the Human Fertilization and Embryology Authority (HFEA). Conducting of the research aimed at treating the kidney remedies thus requires a permit from this authority and the mandate given through the received licenses.
Doody and Doody (2012) opine that through transformational leadership, it is recommendable for the embracing of this technological approach in researching for better solutions to the diseases affecting our communities (1216). This gives the relevance of being acquainted with HFEA and possessing the necessary licenses before commencing on research with the stem cells. As a transformation leader, I would like to have a significant change in this sector through the creation of inspiration policies that would improve the use of the stem cells (Doody & Doody, 2012). The necessary amended legislation necessary would be allowing the stem cell research into being incorporated in various investigations toward seeking a solution to diseases affecting the community such as the kidney condition.
Future of stem cell research
The future of the stem cell research in improving the general health in the society through the understanding of kidney disease and developing the treatments has hopes. Use of therapeutic cloning is defined as the process of using the tissue samples from the human embryo with intent or producing a similar tissue or organ (Tasoglu & Demirci, 2013). Such samples can be utilized in partaking some rigorous genetic research and in the growing of new cells. This new technology can be directed in the treating of conditions such as cancer, heart diseases, and diabetes. The technology is thus of essence in the replacement of the damaged organs. As a transformation leader, I support this endeavor based on if such ideas are actualized under the proper moral conduct and in the precise ethical dimensions (Mason et al., 2016). Embracing this research strategy will serve as an alternative for reducing the problem of kidney shortage in case of the organ transplants.
