Choose one out of the three essays options below. Please write an essay, MINIMUM 1,000 (that’s equivalent to 4 pages in 12 pt. font, double-spaced).
I want to be able to gauge whether or not you “get it.” Thus, your essay should be specific, detailed and explicit with respect to how you analyze the concepts and perspectives based on the knowledge you have gained so far.
Please remember to CITE YOUR SOURCES OF INFORMATION. Not just in the reference section of your paper, but WITHIN the paper as well. If you state a fact, you must cite where you got that fact from!
Also remember to PROOFREAD your work! Misspellings and grammatical errors can disrupt the flow of your writing so please be check your work before submitting it.
One last note: this paper is relatively SHORT. Mininum 1,000 words is NOT a lot(yes, it can be longer). If you work on your paper thoughtfully and do what is requested, you will have no trouble fulfilling that minimum word requirement. However, if your paper does not fulfill the minimum word requirement, I will DEDUCT points. For every 200 words your grade will go down one half letter.

I. Explain the role of anomie in one criminological theory learned this semester. (Note: to do this, you will have to explain what anomie is, then explain how it relates to the theory.)
II. Your neighbor, Homer Simpson, is arrested for killing his friend Barney Gumble and robbing Moe?s Tavern. You subsequently find out from Chief Wiggum that the previous evening Homer?s wife, Marge, left him for his co-worker Lenny. In addition, Homer?s boss, Mr. Burns, informs you that he fired Homer the week before. Choose a theory that might explain Homer?s criminal actions.
III. Explain labeling theory.
I choose #3 but if you feel one of the other options is better then you can choose what’s easiest for you.
