Try doing the project on Houston, Tx. I would appreciate if you can write a little bit more than 2 pages. I am a repeat customer and this is my 4th assignment this week to be done through you guys so i am really tight on budget. Please consider it a request.
This project asks you to investigate your hometown, in depth, from a data standpoint. You are going to write a climate profile of what you found out. Try to stick to government sources, although you may find excellent resources elsewhere. You can probably do it all on the Web…make sure you copy and past the websites for all your sources and put them on a reference sheet.
Tell me the temperature profile of your town. Average temp. Seasonal highs and lows. Records. Are there unique micro-climates in the metro-area (mountains, beaches, valleys, etc.)? Include anything you find relevant on temp.
Now, do the same for precipitation. Do you get snowfall? Is that recorded separately? Is there a rainy season? Are there unusual controls that affect precipitation (monsoon, El Nino, etc.)?
Can you find out anything about the closest NWS office. Where is it located…what region are you in? Find out if you can get a radiosonde for your town. If so, save it and attach it.
Are there any special phenomena, either in the weather or related, that affect your town.? (example: hurricanes, tornadoes, flash floods, landslides, hail storms, etc.). If so, describe these phenomena and provide a couple historical examples. Why does location matter, here?
