You’d have to watch 2 of the following 3 movies:
Spartacus (1960) with Kirk Douglas and a cast of thousands. Plot outline: “The slave Spartacus leads a violent revolt against the decadent Roman empire”.
The Name of the Rose (1986) based on the book by Umberto Eco. Outline: An intellectually nonconformist monk investigates a series of mysterious deaths in an isolated abbey.
King Arthur (2004) with Clive Owen. “A demystified take on the tale of King Arthur and the Knightsof the Round Table“.
All three can be found on the internet (Internet Movie Database-IMDb)
Write a 2-page paper giving the title of the movie and the name of the director. Briefly summarize the plot. do you think this was a good history film? give a specific example of why or why not. If you were recommending this to a friend who knew nothing about the period, what piece of historical information would be most important for them to know before hand?
