Bibliography (DO NOT USE A CITATION GENERATOR)
**Please note: This assignment could more accurately be called the “References list” assignment, because APA formatting calls it’s bibliography “References.” However, it’s been called the Bibliography assignment since I started teaching the class, so the name remains…but every semester, a handful of students still submit an assignment titled “Bibliography.” Please don’t do that. This assignment should be titled “References.”
Using the library databases, you will be expected to compile a page of references of at least 10 citations on the topic: Does Alcohol abuse lead to dementia (Alcohol abuse and dementia). Please note that this assignment requires strict adherence to APA formatting. There are no exceptions to using APA formatting, and no re-submissions are permitted for this assignment.
Your references must be obtained from scholarly, peer-reviewed journals. News sources like “Time” or “Newsweek” and web sources like “Wikipedia” or “About.com” are not appropriate references for this assignment. Nor are sites such as alz.org. Your search should include only articles that report original research in the field of aging. You may include one review article (an article that summarizes other research) in your bibliography. If you have questions about whether a source is appropriate, contact the instructor or post a question in the Q&A discussion in the classroom.
Because we are interested in contemporary issues in aging, your references should be no more than 5-7 years old unless you are including a seminal work in the field. Seminal works are studies that are cited a great deal in the literature because they have made an important contribution to the advancement of the field.
The bibliography must be formatted using APA (American Psychological Association) style. Information on how to use this formatting is available in the online classroom. PLEASE NOTE THAT SUBMISSIONS WHICH USED A CITATION GENERATOR WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A PASSING GRADE ON THIS ASSIGNMENT.
